Local celebrity Sean Bean uncovered his star plaque outside Sheffield Town Hall on Saturday to a crowd of enthusiastic fans.
The Sheffield born actor joined a list of internationally-renowned celebrities including Michael Palin, Seb Coe, Gordon Banks, Joe Cocker, Michael Vaughan and Def Leppard in the Sheffield Hall of Fame.
Bean is best known for his roles as Boromir in The Lord of the Rings, and James Bond's adversary Alec Trevelyan in the film Goldeneye.
In an address to the crowd, he said: "Thank you everybody for coming along today. It's a real privilege and honour.
"Sheffield is a very special place to me. It's where I was born and brought up. It holds a very special place in my heart."
Sheffield’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Graham Oxley, described Bean as a true ambassador for Sheffield and a lifelong supporter of Sheffield United FC.
Oxley said: "His popularity was highlighted by the people of Sheffield who nominated him to be one of the original Legends and it’s great to welcome him back to the city to unveil his plaque. I am very proud to welcome Sean into the city’s walk of fame as a great Sheffield Legend."
After the ceremony, Bean made a quick exit in order to catch Sheffield United's 1-0 home victory over Middlesbrough at Bramall Lane.
