Running from February 9 to 12, the 'Wear you heart on your sleeve' fundraising week is aiming to raise money for Sheffield Children's hospital and its Scanner Appeal.
A stall outside the Students' Union will enable students to record electronic Valentine's Day messages in aid of the appeal.
For a donation of £2, students who want to get involved can record a message for a friend, partner or they can even let the world know why they love Sheffield Union.
The messages of people expressing love for Sheffield Students' Union will be collated into one YouTube video, and will be displayed on flat screens throughout the Union building. Although the project correlates with Valentine's Day week, the fundraiser will continue to collect as many messages as possible, and will be an ongoing project.
The Scanner Appeal aims to raise half a million pounds in order to buy a new state of the art CT scanner which will provide 3D images. Sheffield Children's hospital scanner is now over seven years old, having been used 1600 times a year and is need of a replacement.
There are further fundraisers ongoing to raise money for the appeal, such as an art competition at Sheffield primary schools and a graphic design competition. The entries will be displayed in Sheffield Winter Gardens.
There will also be fundraising taking place outside of Sheffield Wednesday's football ground, anybody who wants to get involved will receive free match tickets.
