US band OK Go played a small yet lively set at the O2 Academy. Supported by a three-piece alternative/punk band from St. Albans, Kid Cosmic, the Chicago four-piece drew a crowd with a variety of age groups, comfortably filling the upstairs room.

The fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of their new album Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky.

Best known for having jump started their career in 2006 with the release of their chart-topping single ‘Here It Goes Again’, complete with a complex, treadmill-based dance routine.

Unfortunately, the band did not perform the famous routine on stage. They did, however, come with an entourage of different guitars and other musical instruments that were alternated throughout the night, giving their set a more creative dimension.

Engaging with the audience and provoking them to sing, laugh, and dance, OK Go provided all round entertainment. From the parents, to the students, to the school kids, all were encouraged to get involved.

Their songs were neat, tidy and well-played. The band played a few songs from their new album, including ‘I Want You So Bad I Can’t Breathe,’ a mellow, yet groovy tune giving the album much promise.
