Review: 7 Styles for 7 Brothers

Archipelago Works, previously located in Ecclesall, celebrated their new home in Sidney Street with a small but interesting street art exhibition, 7 styles for 7 brothers.
Brought together by Kid Acne, an international renowned illustrator, in collaboration with Archipelago Works, 7 styles for 7 brothers had collected works from graffiti artists Cept, Dscreet, Pinky, Infinite Livez, Kid Acne, Russell Maurice and Sweet Toof, all known in their own cities (ranging from Brighton to Berlin).
The “7 brothers” had different styles of graffiti, from just a simple, succinct message (Kid Acne, Cept) to saturated but colourful collages (Dscreet, Infinite Livez). Street art might not be considered “proper” art, but it has a definite style and all seven artists had a good visual style and use of colour.
All artwork, including a zine, were specially made for this exhibition, printed in the facilities in the artworks. The Archipelago Works is at 16-200 Sidney St., near the Showroom Cinema.
